So this is the wee munchkin who has been distracting me from my business over the last few months. Mstr Hunter will be 4 months old tomorrow! I can't actually believe how fast time flies when you've got a little one in the house. He's growing so fast that his birth is almost a blur already! Luckily we engaged the services of a fantastic photographer, Kat from TopKat Photography at our home birth who recorded those precious moments for us.
We were delighted to be able to have our wee boy at home, it really made it so very special! I was blessed that my parents flew over from the UK to support us and my Mum was right there with me holding my hands throughout labour and birthing. My husband was re-engaging those back massage skills he learnt first time around in the pool with me, and my Dad bless him!) was drinking wine upstairs and making himself useful by continually boiling up water for the tub, as our tank did not quite manage the volume in the pool!!!
Hunter arrived after a short 2.5 hour labour, gently and peacefully on Thursday the 3rd July at 8.56pm. A surprise baby (and I must admit that I was kind of expecting a girl, but in hindsight with all the kicking that had been going on in my belly - I should have guessed it was a boy!!) all 3.8kg of him - which compared to my daughter who was just 3.03kg, he was a big lad! If you want to check out some of the amazing Birth photos you can here! This is the public version, so you won't see any "bits" that might offend!!
My HypnoBirthing skills and training were put back into good use again and I had no pain killers with his birth, just the warm water, massage from my husband and the breathing & relaxation skills learnt & refreshed when I trained & qualified to become a HypnoBirthing Practitioner during my pregnancy. This is a service I will be adding to my Natural Fertility Practice and will commence in the New Year. Dates are being firmed up as I type. Check my website regularly for details.
In the background I am doing a lot of planning & organising (when the wee one lets me!) and I will be announcing something fabulous really soon - a new venture of sorts, but something I am uber excited about and hope to be able to get details to you in the New Year.
Signing off for now...Health & Happiness to you. Jo xox
